Teen Patti basics: one round, step by step
A friendly no-stakes introduction to the familiar flow of a Teen Patti round, its table vocabulary and why house rules matter.
A quick orientation to the familiar three-card format—without stakes, money or promises of winning.
Start by agreeing on the rules
“Teen Patti” describes a family of three-card formats, not one universal digital ruleset. Before a friendly practice round, agree on the deck, hand order, turn sequence, allowed actions and tie resolution. If you are learning in an app, read that mode's rules screen first.
Deal, take turns, resolve
In a common version, players receive three face-down cards. Players take turns under the table's chosen rules. Terms such as blind, seen, chaal, pack and show are familiar in many formats, but their exact meaning and sequence can differ. The round ends according to that specific ruleset.
Understand the hand order
A commonly taught order is Trail/Trio, Pure Sequence, Sequence, Colour, Pair, then High Card. Special modes can change that order. Our hand ranking reference includes examples and a variation warning.
Keep a learning session friendly
Practice with no money or redeemable rewards. Take turns explaining why a hand falls into a category. If players disagree, pause and consult the written rules rather than escalating the disagreement.
